Do you go to independent events?

If so, do you have a preferred promotion?

Do they have a YouTube where I can look them up?

I would like to, but I usually don’t hear about any indy shows within reasonable driving distance until after they’ve already happened. Mostly my own fault because I dropped twitter and my facebook only exists for family members to message me.

I have been to several Project Nova Wresling shows in Germany. They mostly feature new and upcoming wrestlers from Germany and Europe. They also upload their shows with a delay to YouTube, but I guess with german commentary only.

I have gone to a few dozen NWA Wildside/Anarchy Wrestling events over the years. Although I haven’t been in about 5 or 6 years. They have a YouTube but it hasn’t been updated in a long time, but they were on hiatus after their building was no longer usable.

Edit: If you can see this, I can’t see this thread or any replies when logged in, the same has been true of anything since the Monday Meme thread. I know Kbin has its faults, but this one sucks.

EDIT 2: You aren’t going to believe this Kbin problem, I blocked some spam domains last week using the site’s built-in blocker, turns out blocking domains on Kbin somehow messes up comments and threads.

Oh, I can believe it. It’s been close to two months since I posted this thread and my problems have only gotten worse.

But the good news is you can now log into Kbin via Google and Facebook! /s (I actually don’t know for sure that you can…but Kbin logged me out the other day and I noticed both Google/FB tabs on my login page)

I try to when able. I used to fairly regularly attend WCPW when it first started, and try to see North when it’s on / I’m able, although it has been a while.

I haven’t in the past (I’ve been invited to shows by wrestler friends but stupidly declined) but I might hit one up soon. I have nephews who would love to go but they might be a bit too young right now.

NWA-Wildside had a manager named Jeff G. Bailey and there was a couple in the front row who had their kid, maybe 4-5 years old, and she was screaming and calling him a crack baby and flipping him off… you’re never too young for some crazy wrestling.

lol that’s great. It’s bound to happen soon, it’s just that one of the boys is still 3-4 and I need permission from my sisters. I’m sure they’ll be cool with it, so long as the promotion is family friendly.

I once saw a lucha promotion at a local festival, and in one of the matches, the face did a big dive to the outside in front of a kid in the crowd. He then got back in the ring, turned to the kid, and pointed at him and said, “That one’s for you, little man!”

The heel’s manager then went over to the kid and said, “Don’t listen to his LIES! That wasn’t for you! NOTHING’S FOR YOU!”

I still remember that, years later. I bet that kid does too.

So take the kids. They’ll form lifelong memories. Just maybe check on the promotion first, and make sure they’re not too bloody or risqué.

That’s a really cool story. Easily a core memory for that kid.

I’ll definitely take them soon. Their parents aren’t really into wrestling but I’ve snuck a few minutes of Dynamite in here-and-there and got the boys into it…though not quite as much as I’d like lol
