If you’ve heard of Headspace, Medito is more or less the same but run by a 501©(3) charity and is 100% free.

For anyone who finds guided meditation helps to manage their symptoms, or is curious to explore meditation, I can’t recommend it highly enough.

I’m glad you’re posting this. I’ve been using Medito for about three years now. In our world of everything costing something, Medito always surprises me with how much content it has and its amazing quality without asking you for anything.

Also, I’ve downloaded the nature sounds in-app and use them when I’m doing something I need to focus on. Nothing like reading a book with calming rain as white noise.

Ohhh… I’ve only ever used white noise to drown out my annoying brain noise when I’m trying to sleep, I hadn’t thought of using it to focus when I’m awake!

I’m sorry to hijack the thread, but have you tried brown noise (more like car noise than rain)? A bunch of people swear by it for making brain go quiet.

There’s also “1 Giant Mind”. It’s not run by a non-profit but it’s free, has been for years, and collects no data.

Not only is medito free, it is ran by a non profit and the app is open source. It is what meditation should be. Putting meditation behind a steep pay wall is just pathetic.

    Donate to medito!

Medito is great and awesome since its completely free.

But I also want to recommend Balance. It offers customized guided meditations. I have been using it for some time now. Its great. The company is giving out 1 year free trials right now.

This is a great suggestion – I used balance a few years ago the last time they did one of these year free trials and thought it was great.

It was after that free year ran out that I found medito, which was a worthy substitute despite not being quite as personalized.
