The same day Taylor Swift posted a message encouraging her followers to register to vote, over 35,000 people reportedly made a “Run (Taylor’s Version)” to do so on Vote.org.
“Vote.org saw record-breaking traffic to our site this week as we celebrated National Voter Registration Day, a highly encouraging sign of voter enthusiasm especially among newly eligible voters. Time and time again young people are showing up and demonstrating they care about their rights and access to the ballot box,” Andrea Hailey, CEO of Vote.org said in a release.
The American multi-genre singer-songwriter’s post also linked to the organization’s website, according to the release. In the Instagram post, Swift called on her army of fans, also known as “Swifties” to “[r]egister to vote in less than 2 minutes” via the nonprofit’s site.
A broken clock is right twice a day. She’s still a capitalist multi-millionaire and complicit in the corrupt music industry and has defended TicketMaster/LiveNation for their monopoly of live music. Like everything she does, it’s all performative.

Quite literally, if I saw the headline “Taylor Swift Performance Stops Trump Presidency” I would believe it given how messed up our timeline is.
Are we sure she is not pro Trump?

Ah, good for her.
So she is a product of it, was raised in it, succeeded in it and is working to make it better for others and you are mad about that?
She’s another Hollywood multi-millionaire nepo baby whose only success came from whose legs she slid out of.
I don’t give a fuck that she’s a multi millionaire. You know why? Let’s look at some math:
Why the hell should I be upset at her advocating for people to go register to vote? Is 10M-100M too much wealth? Yeah, but I’m far more concerned about the people making billions by sitting on their asses than I am about someone making millions by being an immensely popular song writer and singer (whose music is awesome).
This is like yelling at a retail worker for their return policy instead of yelling at the executives, who the worker is actively agreeing fucking suck. You’re falling for a talking point that the billionaires love to use to spread division. Like it or not, Taylor Swift not only works for her money, but she’s also been fucked over by billionaires in recording studios. She is closer to working class than she is to the filthy rich.
I hope she sees this dude.
Her complicity in the TicketMaster/LiveNation monopoly is reason enough for me to hate her. Sorry but you’re not gonna change my mind. I appreciate the effort you put in your comment though
Eh, have an upvote for appreciating the argument even if we still disagree.
Look, I slid out of a poor’s legs. I too am jelly.
Everything we all do is performative, especially your outrage.
Also isn’t she the single worst person for private jet usage on the planet or something?
“Everyone vote. It’s important.”
You: regurgitates conservatives’ obsession with private jets for no reason
I mean do we even need Fox News anymore? We’ve internalized these bad faith accusations so well. We’re doing the work for them.
In what world are conservatives obsessed with private jets? Private jets are fucking awful for the environment, the thing conservatives famously dont care about.

“For a while now we have been exposing the hypocrisy of Lear Jet Liberals”

This was a cursory Google search. The list goes on. Pick any year in the last 15. It’s a pillar of their “hypocritical lib” argument.
So its about “owning the libs” not caring about the environment.
And does republicans using the argument make it wrong by default?
You’re changing the parameters.
What you said was “conservatives famously don’t care about this” but clearly they do. I never said it was out of the kindness of their hearts or about the environment, I have no idea where you got that impression. I said you’re regurgitating a Fox News talking point. It’s a cynical line by them, clearly. So yes, it’s wrong by default, because we can dismiss the accusation as being by someone who has set no actual bar or even cares about it. If they don’t care about context, nuance, honesty, etc., why should I give them the time of day?
This is all irrelevant though. You said they famously don’t care, clearly they do. It’s an obsession.
read my comment again. I said they famously dont care about the enviroment.
