Actively federates with the usual suspects.
#Fediblock
Lemm.ee has a massive userbase and its entire point is to federate with everyone, but sure…
That’s fine, but they federate with bad faith instnces like poast (nazi instance), pawoo (loli/CSAM instance), and many many more fash and pedo instances. I’m going to assume that the admin doesn’t know about these instances yet, but users could be exposed to unsavory material if they don’t defederate from them ASAP
lemm.ee’s admin is pretty good with making sure those kinds of instances are defederated. They probably haven’t noticed it yet. I’m pretty sure they’d be happy to defederate once they are informed. Not sure if this works but let me try tagging them. !sunaurus@lemm.ee
Oh shit Poast is a nazi instance? I came across it the other day and couldn’t figure out the login so left it. I thought it’s some other service, not lemmy.
They’re not a lemmy instance, but as with all federated activitypub instances, they can still interact with lemmy users

Glad to know that. Fuck ‘em.
The admin does defederate from illegal content and I’ve never heard of or seen pawoo. As for bad faith instances the rule really is as simple as trying to federate with everyone. Every instance has its own federation rules so having one that has almost none isn’t a bad thing.
Did I instantly block exploding heads? Yes, but it’s nice that I have the option because in some cases I want to keep specific areas around. Some communities on hexbear are fine for example, whereas many instances quickly defederated from it. The ability to block an instance from a user level is coming next Lemmy update by the way, it’ll just be a few clicks to hide all that harmful content.
Im glad to see you go
