Just like all treatments their absolutely are side effects, whether those make sense in a given situation is a decision between a healthcare professional and a child / their parents. The government should absolutely not have any stake in the decision, and reactionary conservative politicians even less so.
The government absolutely has interest in protecting the child. The onus is on the drug manufacturer to prove they are save and have no irreversible side effects. They clearly do have irreversible side effects if used long term but that is besides the point. They have not even begun to attempt to try to lie about it. That is why it’s not approved for that use.
Most kids with gender dysphoria grow out of it. Some become gay or even straight people comfortable in their own bodies.
If even one child regrets it (and many have come forward with regret) It should be outlawed. They cannot consent to such a treatment because they don’t have the mental capacity to do so.
So much for the party of small government. Cite your claims cause right now it’s just you saying shit that the medical establishment clearly disagrees with. Parents know their children, and this treatment saves lives of kids that need it. You just hate trans ppl and don’t want them to exist.
