You’re downvoted idk why. I mean I have only the same black socks, and a couple of pairs that guy gifted to me.
I default to my blacks as they are exactly what I like. The thickness, the length, the elasticity. I sometimes wear the other socks when I’m meeting those that gifted them but it’s always slightly awkward and just not there.
I do have colorful options in almost every but of other clothing, however in socks I’m pretty particular.
However I wouldn’t downvote anyone on different sock particularities, you go ahead with your flashy socks!

Tbh it was never about flashy socks, I do have some garish colours for the odd occasion but mostly the variety is through different uses. Hiking, running, skiing, boot, trainer, summer, winter. Sure, there is some crossover but many of then are vastly different.
I find it unlikely that there’s really some mystical all purpose sock out there?
To be fair I own socks for hiking and sports, and for very cold weather I’ll wear long ones. But it’s pretty moderate where I live, so for most circumstances my black cotton socks are adequate. In het hot weather I just go without.
