thanks for posting, here is the link with the text so people can copy and paste the links in the manual easily: https://onlinetextsharing.com/operation-razit-raze-reddit
While the reasoning is a bit simplistic, the proposed consequence is valid: we have to burn it down, or it will be taken from us and converted into a shitty form of Facebook. spread the word, burn it to the ground!
Yes, the reasoning is simplistic. I couldn’t add much info or argumentation into the text, as it was already ~2k words long.
And thinking now, I wish that I mentioned another consequence of razing the ground - it discourages other companies from following the same route as Reddit and Digg.
Note for those using the original PDS mentioned everywhere -> it does not rewrite all your comments due to a 5-second cooldown in editing comments implemented by Reddit. PDS will say its complete, but only a few comments will be successfully edited.
(Note: this is because Reddit doesn’t return an error.)
Use one of the many forks that implemented a timer function to get around the cooldown.
I found one. I wish that I did it before writing this tutorial, as myself used the “old” PDS in my account.
On a lighter side, even partial pre-IPO damage is better than no damage.
