In absence of a community for greyhound owners/admirers across Lemmy I’ve opted to create one here on feddit.uk.

By way of a introduction, here’s our boy Ziggy. He’s a 4 year old ex-racer living with us in sunny, sunny Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 😉. He likes 🧀, naps and waking us up at 6am for his morning constitutional.

I’ve set up an icon and banner image for the community from our own set of photos but they’re more placeholders until something better comes along.

    I would subscribe if it were for sight hounds more generally! I have a podenco, which is basically a lurcher. Same couch hogging, lazy or 100% attitude, but easier to carry and they love to periscope.

      To be honest, this community was modelled on the one of the same name on Reddit and I just checked and they do allow posts about “closely-related sighthounds”.

      I think I’ll do the same here, given we’re so few in number, and then maybe in the future some intrepid souls may find there’s enough traction to branch out and create a /c/lurchers, /c/whippets, etc.
