    37!? That’s amateur hour stuff! In 1855 it took 133 rounds and then they only succeeded because they changed the threshold from majority to plurality.

    In 1859 it took 44 rounds and again they settled for a plurality vote.

    The current batch won’t settle for a plurality because it would mean electing the minority candidate as speaker (minority in multiple senses, all distasteful to MAGA republicans).
