Were you hoping to play through the METAL GEAR SOLID: MASTER COLLECTION Vol.1 that just launched on Steam? Well, currently you won't be able to on Steam Deck and desktop Linux as it's quite broken.
If it works, it works. It would be nicer if they did better, but they solve enough of my own problems as someone trying to run those games in the modern era that I’ll easily put up with it for some of the best games ever made.
I’m not sure that’s the message we really should be sending though. We shouldn’t encourage huge studios to get away with this kinda laziness. I agree that they’re some of the best games ever made, which is why I think Konami should treat the IP with a bit more respect
In this case, I’d be rewarding for them for at least porting the HD versions from the last remaster to the PC for the first time, in a way that actually preserves those games outside of consoles and piracy. If you want to see the least that Konami can do, I’m told we should look at their collection for Silent Hill.
