If you feel a community is breaking the rules, how do you report it?

Thanks!

On Lemmy.world send an email to info@lemmy.world. It will automatically open a support ticket.

Assuming you feel the community as a whole is breaking the rules, you need to report it to the instance admins of the host for that particular community. For example, you and this community are Lemmy.World. but if you were to have an issue with AskLemmy, you would need to report it to Lemmy.ml.

There is a potential issue that the admins of that instance don’t care, or even support that content. The next step (aside from just blocking things on your own account) is to convince your own instance to defederate, as happened recently with exploding heads (and Lemmygrad before that) on several major instances.

message the mods or instance admins, or post on the Community Request/Support/meta community if that exists on your instance. I don’t think there is a report button available, just a block button.
