Or I could just ignore the things I don’t use. You guys blow this way out of proportion. Don’t get me wrong, I love the simplicity and barebonesness of Linux OSs, I have a desktop install and run a home server using it too. But does the presence of edge or news affect me? No.

I worry about the telemetry and customizing my OS to exactly the way I want.

Things like swapping Ctrl and Alt without needing to spring extreme protocols or run software that is a security risk. It’s just a couple of toggles on Linux.

But it’s a “to each their own” kinda stuff 😅 After work I can’t look at Windows anymore.

Entirely eliminating proprietary garbage like Windows from your life sounds better to me. After a couple of Windows Updates OneDrive, Edge and all the other garbage you uninstall will be back, Windows behaves like fucking malware, it’s a cancer. On Linux, won’t ever have to deal with this garbage ever again. You will also have access to much better package managers than winget.
