Didn’t it used to revert back to what you typed if you just hit backspace once after the autocorrect? And it was default. Then it disappeared. Maybe I should check my settings but that feature made so much sense to me.

I haven’t checked, but my first guess would be that feature probably got removed due to patent trolls.

I’m pretty sure Apple fixed this in iOS 17 but I haven’t tested it so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Sarcasm? My autocorrect put’s apostrophe’s in the most heinou’s place’s and I blame autocorrect for the wave of apostrophe abuse.

My autocorrect must be a lot more discerning, then. Cause it omits them more than adding extra.

Imo apostrophes arent necessary in informal settings. How many words can still be understood if you leave out the apostrophe?
I dont usually bother with them unless theyre inserted automatically when im dictating or when im typing on my physical keyboard. When im typing out words manually on this bullshit touchscreen keyboard (like right now) i just cant be bothered. Its already too much effort and once again: how necessary are they actually? You tell me.

I may not like it, but I think it’s probably the right move. Putting apostrophes in unnecessarily can cause confusion. Leaving them out gives me a minor contextual puzzle that takes a microsecond.
