What comes next will be interesting. The feral wing of the Conservative Party will now almost certainly demand that Sunak pull Britain out of the ECHR - a post-WW2 convention that was (ironically) primarily drafted by a British Conservative MP and Nuremberg prosecutor, to protect against future repeats of the human rights abuses seen before, during and in the aftermath of the war. The only other European states not party to the ECHR are Russia and Belarus - that being the sort of company these feral Tories would prefer to keep.
