I use my Apple Watch to keep track of my health, and I’ve noticed that it regularly reminds me to stand up. I’m curious if there’s actually scientific support for the idea that standing up regularly improves health.
Are there any studies or research that demonstrate the positive effects of standing up throughout the day? I’m interested in knowing if it’s a factor that can genuinely impact health positively, or if it’s just a nice feature without concrete scientific backing.
If anyone has links to studies or if you’ve personally noticed improvements in health by following these reminders, I would appreciate it if you could share your experiences!
Like the others said, calling it the “stand” ring can be a misnomer and you are meant to actually walk around for a minute or two.

The researchers here call for more frequent moving than every 50 minutes.
