I think it’s a really great concept and it feels way nicer to use than the buttons when going through the menus, but I absolutely hate it when I’m trying to rewind a show 30 seconds. It’s basically impossible to click the center button to play after clicking back twice to rewind slightly.

Does anyone else have this issue? I’m considering disabling the touch functionality because of this.

Going right back to the very first Siri Remote on the ATV4 I’ve always used the touch control, still use touch control now with the ATV4K 3rd gen without issue.

I have previously turned it off to test it out but preferred the touch overall so keep it turned on.

I have it disabled. Way too easy accidentally do something unintended when reaching for the remote.

Disabled it as well. Using it with YouTube TV became unbearable in terms of fast forwarding/rewinding.

I have it turned on and set to “medium.” I have the remote in a case that makes it thicker and heavier in my hand. I find that make it easier to use as well. YMMV

I have always had it on for like 8 years now. Everyone in my household has no problems with it.

I keep mine turned on, but also discovered that using Siri to move forward and backward within a program gets me better results faster than using the buttons

My older brother is 84 and him and his wife (both seniors) absolutely cannot figure out the touch surface. I finally gave up on trying to teach them so u set click only feature for them . Personally I hate it and every time I visit I set it back to touch so I can use!
