I just got my new iPhone 15 and I have noticed that while taking I just got my new iPhone 15 and I have noticed that while taking photos under the bright lights of my garage, landscape 16:9 photos under the bright lights of my garage, this artifact black bars appear on the photos. If I turn the lights off, it stops! Apple Support said they have a record of several people reporting this issue and they have the engineers working the problem.
You have the grid display set to ‘Aspect Ratio’. Change it to square.
This is only a visual representation of the photos. As they have carrying aspect ratios, they cannot display fully in a grid format without spaces (your ‘black bars’)
These bars are not part of the photo, merely the only way to display all of a rectangle within a square space.
The photos themselves are fine.
I appreciate your response, however, that is not my issue. The photos themselves in fact have the black bars. It’s some sort of hardware or software issue, I’ve been on the phone with three different senior advisors from Apple support trying to figure out the problem, from resetting all of my settings, do a complete phone reset, etc. While on the phone with them today I discovered that if I turned off the lights in the garage, the issue stopped! Like my original post stated, they have record of several other people calling in with the same issue. They are trying to figure out what is causing it, I was posting here in case anyone else had the problem they aren’t the only one!

Ok. No idea then. Phone under warranty still. Get it replaced (repeatedly if necessary) until you don’t have the issue.
That would be the only recommendation for next steps
