Well, she did say some fucked up things. But the other people mentioned in the article who were forced to resign basically just said “I’m against genocide” and were labeled as antisemites. That’s fucked up too.

“There are a lot of people afraid of being Jewish at this time, and are getting a taste of what it feels like to be a Muslim in this country.”

She’s being shitty to American Jews for something Israel’s government is doing and being overly indifferent to, if not supporting antisemitic violence in America.

She didn’t have to do that to make the point that American Muslims are also being treated badly and live in fear of retaliatory violence every time any Muslim commits a crime anywhere.

The worst part of what she said is that it dismisses the rampant antisemitism that the US has in its history and the continued antisemitism that Jews still suffer in the US to this day. Should people attack American citizens due to US government foreign policy? Because that’s what she’s implying is ok for American Jews due to Israeli Government actions.

Did she? I watched the video and it just sounds like she’s expressing support for Palestine and suggesting others do the same.

If being against genocide is antisemitic, genocide is an inherent trait of Judaism - if that’s the case, there’s a pretty strong argument to be made that they should be wiped out. It’s an incredibly stupid, antisemitic claim to make.

The other person, not people, mentioned was Maha Dakhil. She still works at CAA. She resigned from its Board. It’s not like she’s homeless. She had to resign from a leadership position. That’s all.

Doesn’t sounds like pro-palestinians, more like pro-antisemitism, justifying it.

Maybe I’m not being clear. How is this justifying hate against x if x is getting to know how it feels to be y.

In both cases hate against these groups is entirely unjustified. I must be missing something here. Is this a joke I’m too woke to understand or some shit?

I find it both funny and sad how humans choose their own interpretations depends how it suits their bias.

I’m not here to educate u or anyone else, I tried to show u an example by swapping the hated “jews” word with the “gays” that everyone love, but if u still can’t see it then I’m sorry I won’t chase this further :)

This does not bode well for my script to introduce Thelma and Louise into the Fast and Furious franchise. (They landed it with grappling hooks and shifting gears a lot)

Honest question for someone out of the loop, and I really hope I don’t say anything offensive. Is it antisemitic to claim the Israel Military/Government is committing genocide? Is it the infered intent of the speaker that makes the distinction if the statement is antisemitic or not?

Last month, Maha Dakhil, the co-head of film at Hollywood powerhouse agency CAA, faced internal backlash and resigned from the agency’s board after she reposted an image on Instagram that read, in part: “You’re currently learning who supports genocide.”

Dakhil added the caption: “That’s the line for me.” She then posted a second image that read: “What’s more heartbreaking than witnessing genocide? Witnessing the denial that genocide is happening.”

I really wish the article explained why these statements are antisemitic. Nothing here seems hostile to Jewish people as a whole, and I interpreted it as a condemnation of the government, but maybe I’m naive. To me it seems like having any opinion opposed to the Israeli Military/Government is considered antisemitic, and they are immune to criticism.

No it isn’t but the Israel lobby is fighting a furious campaign to shut down criticism and calling people anti semites and getting them cancelled or fired is their primary weapon to silence people through fear.

        She justified antisemitism:

I understand what Susan Sarandon said was wrong, I’m referring to the rest of the article where other people were accused of antisemitism for saying the Israeli Government is committing genocide.

Saying that opposition to genocide is antisemitic is to say genocide is inherent to Judaism - that’s some Hitler-tier antisemitism that makes a (moronic) case for exterminating the genocidal Jewish race.
