You can get a decent refillable vape that’s very slightly bigger than a disposable one for like €25. It’s €9 here for a disposable one, which would last about a day or two.
It was about €30 a month for the juice for a refillable one. You’d start seeing savings pretty much immediately. Plus you can add your own level of nicotine, disposable ones have a really high level of nicotine in them too.
For anyone addicted to disposable bales especially Elf Bars I finally found a juice that tastes just like it. It’s called Bar Juice you can find it on pretty much every site that sells juice in the US. I use pod vapes with disposable carts.
Tbf, that’s what nondisposable ones look like, too. It’s a coil heating a wick soaked in juice. I agree that disposable ones are a massive waste and need to be stopped.
They have made basically everything vape wise illegal here, aside from the ‘medical’ product supplied by a company that one of the key anti vape lobbyists is a major shareholder in.
Honestly as someone who is now 2 months clean of vaping its a lot easier to quit after vaping than it is to go from smokes to not smoking.
I was going through 2 or 3 of the Iget Legend vapes each week before going cold turkey back in September, the cravings were bad for maybe a day, but after that it was manageable with just mints.
To give some more context, I was a 2 pack a day smoker for over a decade before vaping for 5 years so I know what I am talkning about.
What about the agitation? Any time I’ve tried to quit I find myself very easily agitated, and dealing with that plus trying to sort out my anger issues from bipolar was just too much. But if I knew it didn’t last long maybe I could get through it.
for me agitation is putting it lightly. mine is rage. and then i go through this nicotine depression where i can’t get outta bed and just hate the world. i didn’t realize you could get that trying to quit.
Because cigarette companies don’t have a stranglehold over the vape market so they need people to switch so they make more money. That’s why it is worse.
the one advantage of dispos is that they can crank the fuck up on the flavor and ice/menthol which refillables are having a hard time to replicate due to coil life.
which is also why current teens are addicted to vapes, dispos in particular.
Teens go for dispos because they’re simpler to use and easier to hide. I think dispos are also more appealing for someone who is curious about vaping which could be a kid, or someone who’s trying to quit smoking. Not everyone wants to make a 100$ purchase on their first vape. the regulation needs to be tightened but I really think this will just increase the black market for vapes, unfortunately.
The thing is unlike a few years ago you don’t need to spend 100$ for a good refillable vape. There are excellent refillable pod Systems for below 20usd now.
That’s just not true… How many people have you spoke to about their reasoning for purchasing disposables? Because I can tell you, from experience, that the answer will almost always be because of the flavor/how the vape hits.
Most popular vapes nowadays aren’t even hard to use either, just fill up a pod and you’re ready to go. In Canada, the STLTH is one of the most popular ones and all it takes is clicking a prefilled pod into the device just like a juul. And in terms of “old-school” vapes, I haven’t seen somebody making their own coils since like 2018 so I don’t think high barriers to entry are keeping people on disposables.
That’s why RBAs exist. You’ve got a refillable vape and a roll of steel wire = endless coils. Takes like 2 minutes to make a new one and they cost fractions of pennies.
You’ll get more flavour out of them than any disposable.
The slow demise of Squonkers is upsetting to say the least. Mesh coil RDAs are easily the best flavor I’ve ever had, and usually stomp disposables. But most people have never tried a mesh rebuildable atomizer.
Not enough ppl mention this, disposable vape flavors are not only better than most juices I’ve tried, but the flavor is also way denser. I love icy menthols, and I’ve tried so hard to match the disposables with what’s available in my small town and I just can’t.
Luckily they’re so much more expensive, so there’s no way I’d switch permanently. Just snag once every few months to mix it up
Recently bought a refillable salt nic vape and was pretty bummed by the difference in flavor. I bought a few different flavors but none of them are as satisfying.
Disposables are just too good, they’re disposable so they can add extra sweetener and the cotton inside has had a lot more time to soak into the cotton and build up on the coils. They’re expensive though, and I switched to save money.
I’ve tried a ton and the vapes I’ve found to hit decent enough are the Vapresso Xros 2 and 3 and Voopoo Drag 4. They’re still not as good, but they’re serviceable with a few juices I’ve found and only run me about $20-30 for a month, months and a half.
I felt the same way, I’ve went from smokes to vape but nothing quite hit the spot like disposables (although I’d rarely buy them for environmental reasons).
However, I’ve found the Vaporesso XROS 3 is a game changer. The 0.6ohm pods along with liquids from the likes of Elfliq, Bar Juice etc is 100% the same as disposables (in fact Elfliq is the same company as the disposable Elf Bar) but completely refillable, rechargeable.
Best bit is the device is dirt cheap! Now I have zero interest in cigarettes any more, this hits the spot
I’d recommend the Luxe XR or Luxe XR Max with the older X pods that have the coil preinstalled over the Xros3.
Bigger and better battery life 1000mAH vs 1500/2800mAh.
The only maybe negative difference is weight 45 Grams vs 77/124 Grams. I currently use the standard XR and I don’t feel the weight of it at all in my pockets or in use, it’s extremely lightweight even when filled.
I’m going to give the XR Max a go when the battery on my standard XR kicks the bucket and isn’t holding charge the way it used to.
I was intrigued by the Luxe XR but I thought perhaps since it looked much higher power it wouldn’t be as much like the experience of what disposables are like, what do you reckon? If I got a Luxe XR, what difference would I notice (besides battery life)?
The power and wattage vary depending what ohm coils you use so that shouldn’t really be a huge issue. 1.2 = 8-12W, 0.8 = 12-16W, 0.6 = 20-26W and 0.4 = 26-32W.
For an MTL experience it’s the 0.8 for the X pods and you can control how tight of a draw it is by rotating the pod.
If you want 1.0-1.2 you need to use the replaceable coil pods. Personally I tried the 1.2s when I first got the vape and did not enjoy the experience as the flavour was non existent and they seemed to burn very easily.
If you stick with the X pods with built in coils you won’t see much of a difference other than battery life and not being inhaled activated rather it’s a fire key.
The battery life alone was enough for me as it’s literally half a battery more than the Xross3 and being able to switch between different vaping styles as I reduce my Nictoine levels is a big plus.
Trust me, the XROS 3 Pod system is as close as you will get, it’s 100% indistinguishable from disposables to me, providing you use the right liquids. Try to get Elfliq or Bar Juice liquids and you’re set, all their flavours are the same flavours you get with disposables.
Good - disposable vapes are one of the biggest wastes I’ve ever seen. Just get a refillable one, jeez.
The disposable ones also use rechargeable batteries because they’re cheap and can deliver the power required.
Discarded vapes are actually a pretty good source for free lithium batteries for hobbyists.
The Vaporesso Eco Nano is ~$20 and a bottle of juice (similar to the disposables) are ~ $15.
Source: I owned a vape shop.

What do you think coils for your non disposable vape are? Lmao.
Agree with you BUT you need a prescription to buy just the nicotine juice and hardly anywhere sells just the juice.
I started harvesting the batteries from the disposable vapes I bought before I switched to the carts.
That’s the problem though. It’s a blanket ban on ALL vaping devices. So no mods, tanks, coils.
Thank you for posting this photo. I assumed as much but never thought to actually look it up. A pod style vape can last for years.
Tbf, that’s what nondisposable ones look like, too. It’s a coil heating a wick soaked in juice. I agree that disposable ones are a massive waste and need to be stopped.
If I could still buy mango bomb nicotine salts I would probably just still be refilling, but elf bars got so cheap and refilling got so inconvenient
They have made basically everything vape wise illegal here, aside from the ‘medical’ product supplied by a company that one of the key anti vape lobbyists is a major shareholder in.
Do they want people to switch to cigs? That’s probably what I would end up doing.
And they’re shit vapes. They don’t work half the time.
I finally quit smoking by vaping and I really don’t want to go back but idk what to do

You can do it, dont giveup.

I have the geekvape obelisk U now… they’re not super reliable but only 20 bucks, 35 with juice to get started.

I haven’t made my own coils in a while… but I just buy them pre-made for my rda.
That’s why RBAs exist. You’ve got a refillable vape and a roll of steel wire = endless coils. Takes like 2 minutes to make a new one and they cost fractions of pennies.

Just get a Boro instead. It’s the best of both worlds. You get something akin to squonk performance in a pod system form factor.
Is it good for mid-wattage sub-ohm builds (for reference I run a Profile RDA with a .14ohm coil at 60 watts)?
Not enough ppl mention this, disposable vape flavors are not only better than most juices I’ve tried, but the flavor is also way denser. I love icy menthols, and I’ve tried so hard to match the disposables with what’s available in my small town and I just can’t.

I just wish there was a pod system that tasted as good. It’s not like there’s a reason to have a new battery for each disposable.
