Age of Wonders 4. It’s like a high fantasy civilization with a combat focus. I’ve never been into this style of game but it’s definitely sucked me in.

What Remains of Edith Flinch. Short 2-3 hour game. I got it for $5 bucks and didn’t regret it.

It’s one of those indie gems.

I’ve been having a blast with Voidigo, twinstick roguelike. Feels like a slower, less hard Nuclear Throne. Highly recommend!

Idk how Back 4 Blood was far less creative than L4D2 given the time gap. I played through a large portion when it released and I kept saying “maybe next level will be an interesting theme, or mechanic, or even an enemy” nope it just continued to be basic as hell. So irritated with that game. I’m not an even an enormous L4D fan, I just had an itch to scratch right around that time.

B4B was the evolution that the L4D franchise needed for a 3rd game. Unfortunately, Darwin was out sick when B4B was in development and the evolution was botched as horribly as possible.

RIMWORLD! Tynan has said he would NEVER put the game on sale, so these sales (even as small as it is) is crazy!

Do you prefer the DE or the regular / hd version?

I personally think even the hd version sucks because it breaks compatibility with scenarios

I’m really into Sunless Sea/skies right now. It’s a cool Victorian/lovecraftian setting where England has sunk underground. The combat is pretty simple (the majority of the game is text based), but there’s tons of lore to uncover.

I’ve put 200 hours into sea, and I feel like I’m just scratching the surface. I have the early game quests down, but there’s just so much to learn about the world and its history. Haven’t even touched skies yet, but it’s very high on my backlog. %100 worth the $15 it’s on sale for.

I backed it, and I got the whole deal… but I haven’t had the time and peace of mind to really dive in.

I’ve been tempted to try to get to a Zub … but I am not sure how to go about doing that, so it never happens.

(I’m a longtime Fallen London player, so I am some amount of invested in the setting)

Go to >!port carnelian on the south coast!< to get started and do a couple of fetch quests. Super easy. Bring >!at least 300 echoes!<. Then, your license gets passed on to future captains. You just need to pay to upgrade your new ships.

Whenever my hunger for the Zee gets to be overwhelming, I’ll boot up the game and give it a whirl.

But Sunless Zee is … intense. I can definitely find more relaxing games to play…

I’ve been recommending this game every time I get the chance.

    CrossCode

It’s an amazing game that has beautiful pixel art, an amazing story, zelda esque dungeons and an amazing combat system.
Sometimes I wish I could wipe my memory just to replay this game.

It’s only 20% on sale and is fairly popular (though not mainstream), but I’ve put 80 hours into Dave the Diver over the past month, and find the $15.99 sale price tag well worth it for fans of games like Stardew Valley. Bought it for a friend of mine.

It mixes up two portions - a rogue-lite day/afternoon cycle where you explore a random undersea area to catch fish and gather materials, and an evening cycle where you work at a sushi restaurant turning those fish and materials into tasty food to get money and upgrade your gear (and restaurant). Great “just one more day” energy. Like many of these kinds of games, you can try to loot goblin/min-max each day, but honestly it’ll lead to burnout. Set some goals each day, focus on those while chipping at secondary objectives, and enjoy the ride. Lots of whacky cut scenes in fun pixel art, and lots of references (Pokemon, Tamogachi, Michael Bay, Simpsons, Friday the 13th, One Punch Man, anime/weeb culture, etc.). It’s cute and fun and addicting.

Goddamn 80 hours? Don’t get me wrong I played it and very much enjoyed it but I have no idea how I’d get 80 hours out of it. Is there a lot of game left after you finish the story or something that I’m not aware of?

Time gated content and 100%ing stuff. Also accidentally deleted my first save file around chapter 5, so about 10-15 hours lost there.

I’d say there’s a good 30-40 hours of content if you’re slow like me, with an extra 20 or so if you’re a completionist.

Ahh okay gotcha, I thought maybe I’d missed a ton of stuff by not continuing to play after I finished the story. And definitely 30-40, I actually looked at my save file after making the other comment and saw I was at 39 hours lol.
