Dragon’s dogma is probably the best exceedingly generic fantasy rpg of all generic fantasy RPGs. I was sad about not finishing the generic story of ddon and fighting bog standard fantasy monsters in cookie cutter dungeons.
The combat mechanics were actually great though. I enjoyed climbing on to dragons to attack them way more than I did in monster hunter. They got better in ddon and I hope dd2 improves it further.
Just please don’t do that thing where the most interacted npc becomes your love interest who then gets kidnapped, taking away your main shopkeep and inn or w.e it was. I forgot after 100 years.
