One of my favorite activities is seeing where a creator applies themselves in their work.
Here are some authors I’ve noticed with self insert characters:
Sarah J Maas: Aelin
Jk Rowling: Hermione
Jane Austen: All the Janes.
Who is your favorite authors self insert character? And how do you know that they are?

Martin Amis’ novel “Money” has a character named Martin Amis.
The most infamous fanfiction, The Divine Comedy written by Dante Alighieri.
Kurt Vonnegut has Killgore Trout, who is basically Kurt as a bitter curmudgeon who writes sci-fi schlock that only a dozen people read. Hilariously those people tend to be the most powerful people on Earth, but it still never leads to any success in his life.
TIL JK Rowling thinks she’s like Hermione 😂 hilarious
Pierre : Tolstoy (in War & Peace)
The Characters in the Dark Tower actually talk to Stephen King and it is revealed the gunslinger is a doppelganger for King. Im not sure how much of a stand in he is though.
