I’ve recently bought a m3 pro base model, but the machine never seems to use all the available ram, it starts using lots of swap before reaching 16GBs, never seem it using more than 16GiB
is it using for video memory? or what 🤔

16 GB used, 2 GB cached = 18 GB Total you have. You are having nice memory pressure on yellow already. Either close some of the apps or change it for 36 GB model, seems like you need more RAM anyway
Nah, i was stressing the machine on purpose, to see what it does16GiB seems fine for now, memory pressure usually stays on green, usually with 12GiB of memory used, rarely goes more than that
I thought that cached files was already included on the memory used 🤔
Let’s see in the next couple of months, if i need i’ll probably trade this in into the 36GiB
