Flight simulator 2024 is using AI to flesh out terrain features to give it a more handcrafted look without requiring it to actually be done across the globe. That’s the kind of stuff that AI would definitely be great for. If it translates to better NPC AI as well that’d be incredible. There are lots of good uses here in both gameplay and development especially with labor and space saving challenges, hopefully they work on THOSE instead of replacing creative work.
Could be useful for massive worlds like NMS with procedural planets. But for the most part please don’t.
