There are lot of phenomenal moments in gaming, but there was something so surreal seeing the mainland United States being invaded from a foreign military power.
Seeing the neighborhoods, and even Washington in flames… to see the “untouchable,” crumbling before you.
Albeit a bit unrealistic and in a fictional setting, the dramatization of such a scenario was perfectly executed. It really felt… real.
That’s when media is at its best. When it evokes a fundamental emotional response. There are people who aren’t even American who played that campaign, and were equally perplexed with their minds saying “No fucking way.”
