People love Path of Exile but it’s exactly that from what I have seen. And a story that seems to be an excuse for a game. I had no idea what is even going on, and why I should care.
absolutely. 100% this is totally it. the millions and billions of game mechanics that mean jack. this is what really annoyed me about the new doom games. doom originally had no score specifically to keep the gameplay to-the-point.
new dooms are made by people who dont know what doom was. an outsider’s perspective.
A million billion half-assed convoluted secondary mechanics that ultimately detract from the main experience
Starfield is the one that comes to mind for me, this was a big complaint of mine.
