I’d love for FFXVI’s active tike lore system to become standard, especially for big, complicated games with a lot of characters and locations involved. Pressing a single button and getting an overview of who is involved in the current cutscene and chapter was so helpful to me.
It would be quite valuable in certain series as well
Yeah I thought that was prettt helpful. Similar games have the lore in another menu but it’s unavailable during the cutscene. Tactics Ogre Reborn for example is heavy on the lore side with a lore menu. Wish it was available all the time though. FFXVI could have benefitted from a text lot though. So much dialogue

that was one of my favourite features of that game. it was so nice being able to pause a cutscene and be able to look at who is who instead of having to Google them to remember what happened since the last time I played and risk spoilers.
what I also loved about it was how the relationship tree could be toggled for each chapter to see how certain character’s allegiances and friendships changed as the story progressed.
I know that isn’t a game but Kindles do this with books you’re reading. If you highlight the name, it’ll give you a brief description of the character and who they are. It’s called X-Ray I think. It’s super nice.
