Splitscreen. We don’t have enough games to play with friends in the same room. I know its not possible with every game but it has to become more common again.
The death of couch co-op and local multiplayer is legitimately an unforgivable sin in modern gaming.
I honestly can’t imagine being a kid today and heading over to a friend’s house for a sleepover and not being able to all gather on the couch to play Halo or Nightfire with your friends.
The new super mario bros wonder would’ve really benefited from that. Or maybe just zoom out a bit. Four characters on screen and all the real estate is gone. The camera always follows a seeminlgy random player which sometimes even switches around mid level who it follows. It’s really annoying to play multiplayer. No if I had the same screen, just smaller, four times for each their one. That’d be amazing!
If you wanna get real fancy, it could be a single screen when everyone’s close and split when someone goes to far away. Probably works best for two players though
Nintendo is the only one that puts any effort into same system multiplayer. Though I do wish solution had split screen co op. Prolly the funnest competing game I’ve ever played but can’t introduce friends to it easily.
Exactly. Imagine my immense disappointment visiting my sister, whom I grew up with having LIFE-ALTERING battles stretching from racing games to fighting games (not a far stretch I know, still), and there was no split screen to be found on her modern gaming console. A lot of games aren’t suited for it, granted, but a RACING game with NO split-screen? Stupid.
I miss demolishing my sister in the same room. My parents, peace be upon them (maybe because I destroyed them in Tekken 2), my friends at my local youth movement, … nowadays it seems like everyone and their dog needs to buy the game, so you can play against each other far away from one another wearing no pants.

I’m still bitter the last 2 Halo games haven’t had splitscreen. I guess my wife is destined to never complete the series.
However, 4 is a pretty good ending to the story, thankfully.

I agree. I recently bought an Xbox Series X after saving for quite a while, and I love to play games with my friends and girlfriend.
It’s so cool to just sit on the couch with a friend and play together something. I wish more coop games had split screen.
