For me it’s Deus Ex Mankind Divided. I played the original when it was new but barely remember it and I owned shadow war and never got into it.
However Human revolution blew me away. I loved that game so much. I still think about it and actually am making this post because I finally started cyberpunk last night and got human revolution vibes like crazy.
However I bought mankind divided on my birthday when it released. Happened to be right around the same day. I turned it on, walked a few steps and turned it off. For whatever reason I’ve never turned it on again.
In an attempt to work through my backlog I categorized my steam library into
Played
Not played
Completed
Infinity-Games
Not-Feeling it
No recorded playtime is the “not played” category.
Any amount of playtime is the played category.
Games I Completed at least once are moved to the completed category manually by me.
Games I thought I might like but ended up not liking are in the “not feeling it” group (also the ones I got through Bundles but never wanted get placed here)
Infinity-games are games with no clear end like chess & Party Games or games where the Grind is the game like Monster Hunter.
Games that remain in the played category are games I intend to finish one day or haven’t made up my mind about them yet.
Games that I haven’t played are the ones I have to try out still to see if they belong in the “not feeling it” category
By using groups I can reduce my backlog systematically giving every title a fair chance first and avoid forcing myself to play games that I end up not liking.
This. I organized my library and hid away all the games that I’ve completed and will not play again or games that I bought and never will play (looking at you, bundled games).
I try to keep my Playing Now section down to 5 or less games and it’s helped a lot.
