A few years ago, I spent most of my savings on The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer (Cinder, Scarlet, Cress, Winter, and Stars Above; I didn’t get Fairest), read them all, and loved them…though I didn’t reread them and sold them some time later.
And what was the first series you spent most of your savings on?
Harry Potter. It changed my life. School always made me feel very insecure about my intelligence and I hated reading because teachers and the system made me feel like I wasn’t enough so I didn’t try. J.K.Rowling made me love readiing. Later I moved on to Lord of the Rings, Narnia, Spiderwick Chronicles. And after that I even started to enjoy ancient Greek Philosophy which helped go into an art university. Now I have a really big library and I still read a lot. It will always have a special place in my heart as a series.
