I just started gaming on PC. Mobile screen recorders are free, and console has one built into it. I want to record myself playing on PC but most of the recorders I come across are freemium.

With a NVIDIA GPU you already have GeForce Experience which is a console style recorder with the ability to record past things or manual.

OBS for actually recording. But if you have an NVIDIA gpu and only want bits and pieces of gameplay, GeForce Experience has an overlay that you can save parts of gameplay up to (I think) 30 minutes

    What GPU do you have?

Could just use Nvidia Share or Radeon ReLive that came with your GPU driver.

From what I’ve heard, the best option is OBS. That said, there’s also one built into Windows if you just want something simple: Windows Key + G.
