Something that you had a hard time with for whatever reason but once you finally got into it, it became one of your favorite.

    Outer Wilds

The game does not hold your hand past the tutorial and after about an hour of exploration you realize that you have to map together random parts of a narrative without any semblance of a starting point

Civ 2. I got like a 4 pack of games which included:civ 2, age of empires, and others. I put in civ 2 and thought wtf old ass looking game. Tried AOE and was addicted. After a while I thought let me look into civ again. Tried it again, took some time to learn it, and absolutely loved it more than AOE.

Elden Ring, i only truly understood it when i killed Godrick. This is coming from someone who’s dad LOVES the souls series, as a kid i always watched him play DS3, and it look super cool, then i played Elden Ring, and…It didn’t click, but i wanted to see what my dad loves about, i struggled on a lot of bosses O Niel for example, but from trying to farm runes i got the Halo Scythe a weapon that i love (I was killing the cleanrot knights because there armour was cool, and just happened to get it). But after i got two of them, plus the entire cleanrot set i went through Stormveil, and struggled on Godrick for SO long. But when i killed him…Everything just clicked for me, all the sudden i was having the most fun i have ever head in a game 9/10 game!

Bloodborne. It was my first souls game too so it was quite an introduction. I got it when it was the free game of the month a long time ago, gave it a go, kept dying to the npcs that I now know you can just run past (lol) and gave up for a while.

People always talk about when a game finally “clicks” for them. I don’t remember exactly what that moment was, but a friend of mine wanted to reintroduce the game to me with a coop run. For whatever reason I was suddenly able to hold my own and deal with the chaos around me.

I got the platinum like 4 months later
