To clarify, I’m not saying this rule should be removed, I’m actually in favour of it but what u don’t understand is if you are not allowed to broadcast on Saturday 3pm, why not just schedule your games accordingly. Look at Germany for example, none of their lower league games clash with Bundesliga. In this case I think the prem games should be rescheduled and it will be a win-win for everyone and the people who want to watch the games. Why can’t they do that?

Why should the prem rearrange every single fixture for TV though? What’s in it for them? They have a good split right now between TV games and non-TV games. Also 3pm on a Saturday is the classic standard football time. The idea that you lose that once you get promoted to the top tier is bizarre.
Because 3pm on Saturday is a more convenient time for those of us that attend premier league games than late or early on a Saturday, let alone Sunday or Monday evening. Not everything has to be for the sole benefit of TV.
in Germany a lot of games clash with Bundesliga
my local club plays at 3 pm on sundays. BuLi kickoff is 3.30 pm. the second team of my club plays at 1 pm on sundays, with a 2nd BuLi kickoff at 1.30 pm
there are similar issues in the middle leagues, which often play on saturdays around the 1 to 5 pm time slots
Oh my bad then. A German friend of mine (long time settled in Scotland) and another friend who did a semester abroad in Germany both have said something similar to what I’ve expressed and hence I came to that conclusion, sorry if it might have been inaccurate. I’ll follow up and find out more about it.
no worries
