Genocide and terrorism are mutually exclusive tho, because with terrorism one wants to influence people by making them react, but with genocide one aims to eradicate them

No, that’s “Ethnic cleansing”. Genocide is actions which will stop a group from existing. The word literally translates as “the killing of a race (genus)”. If a group is moved, it still exists as long as it’s still together.

I think you might be getting mixed up as the forced relocation of children can fall under genocide. That’s because the result is the group has no offspring, and will die out.

None of this changes what Israel is doing. It’s genocide.

I’ve never seen so much discussion about the semantics of “genocide” since Israel started its attacks on Palestine.

You can tell who the bad guys are when the most its supporters can do is pull out a dictionary and say “Well TECHNICALLY…”

(Not saying you’re a supporter; just speaking in general)

I think when you’re accusing a country of war crimes, it’s important not to be hyperbolic. If you inflate what is going on, it just allows your enemies to do exactly as you say and go “Well TECHNICALLY it’s not genocide”. You want to nail them to the wall for what they are actually doing so they can’t escape.

We all know that ethnic cleansing will probably deteriorate into genocide, because people will not want or will not be able to leave, but to “jump the gun” (sorry) just gives them a way out.

I’m not an international Court or judge or anything, nor do I think I have the be all end all of opinions.

So I don’t think there’s any harm in me “calling it like I see it” even if it is a bit early and not 100% technically accurate.

I think it’s a bad look when people are saying “TECHNICALLY […]”, so that works for me.

leave it up for israelis to find a way to mix mutually exclusive things though, like their love for nazism and judaism
