Hey android pals, not sure if this is the right place to ask but my Google Fu is failing me, I’m currently in a single party consent country but will be moving to a two party consent region soon, is there an app that works like an ivr that will screen calls and advise people they’re being recorded (and ideally terminate the call if they do not consent)?

You should look into the legality of exactly that consent means in that region and when it is required. For example if you simply record calls for personal purpose, like a substitute for note taking while driving, or recalling appointment details etc. you may not need to advise the other party of the recording. Some jurisdictions only require explicit consent to make the recording admissible in a court of law.

If there’s a verbal warning, they consent by remaining on the line. That’s how all business customer service departments do it.

That’s not really “like” and IVR, that’s literally an IVR.

Most IVR software is programmable to say/do whatever you need it to.

You may be able to simply play a message that says that the call is being recorded and that continuing the call constitutes permission.

I turned on call recording on my phone for phone numbers not in my contacts list. Google set up an automated message directly on the Phone app that plays when the call starts that says “this calls is being recorded”. I imagine they hear that and choose to hang up or agree and continue.

I don’t think there is such a thing as android apps that can record phone calls, at least on unrooted phones. The OS design goes way out of its way to prevent that, to prevent malware from intercepting calls. Am I mistaken?

I haven’t used it in a lng time, but my recollection was when making/recieving a call using Google Voice you just press 4 and recording starfs with THIS CALL IS NOW BEING RECORDED
