Just sharing my method on how I bought my Steam Deck OLED for 3/4 of the original price. I was skeptical when I read about it, but decided to try it and it took me a few good hours trying not to screw it up, but it worked out in the end. Maybe someone can benefit from it, but it has some risks.

I mean props to the OP but if you read the article they didn’t buy a Steam Deck for $440… It’s pretty much just getting lucky flipping CS:GO skins

Agreed. A similar ‘hack’ could be “I bought a Steam Deck for free, all I had to do was to work for 22 hours at a job that earned me $25/hour”

No, I didn’t try to get lucky, I checked the prices every minute on Steam market to not get screwed (there are some bots making fake orders) and just sold the items within 5 minutes of buying it cheaper. But you can definitely buy it cheaper if you know these markets, but I was being very risk-averse.
