“The only person he cares about is himself,” a Biden campaign spokesperson said.

President Joe Biden’s campaign attacked former President Donald Trump on Wednesday for saying that he wouldn’t protect Europe if it were attacked.

“The idea that he would abandon our allies if he doesn’t get his way underscores what we already know to be true about Donald Trump: The only person he cares about is himself,” Biden campaign spokesperson Ammar Moussa told POLITICO on Wednesday.

The broadside comes a day after a senior European politician recounted how Trump privately warned years ago that America would not come to the EU’s aid.

“‘You need to understand that if Europe is under attack we will never come to help you and to support you,’” Trump told European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen in 2020, according to French European Commissioner Thierry Breton, who was present for their chat at the World Economic in Forum in Davos.

Well, who would be doing the attacking? Trump is Putin’s water boy.

I knew one that unironically said that the USA is the only country that matters.

Which as a European, is fair enough. America first, American interests first.

Of course, ensuring Europe doesn’t fall into the Russia/Chinese sphere of influence, and having powerful allies, is quite obviously in America’s interests.

Not that there’s any point arguing with morons like that. Like playing chess with a pigeon. No matter what, you’re likely to end up with shit in your hair.

    Europe already knows Donny.

The idea that Europe exists because of some sort American benevolence is only found in America.

Europe has a long history of war and resilience but also of shifting borders. If China and Russia decided to combine forces to take land, Europe would be fucked without global support.

If Russia was uncooperative it would be hard for China, but if they cooperated with infrastructure I don’t know.

The thing is that NATO’s article 5 has only been invoked once in history, by the United States after September 11.

Europe came to support you, Donny.

I don’t believe that it would benefit America very much if Europe were to orient itself more towards China.

Frankly, I’d do it in a heartbeat if the only other option was Russia. I much prefer the current North America+Europe+Far East block though. If China got sane, finally threw CCP to the garbage bin where it always belonged and joined Taiwan, I would happily have it in the Far East part of that block.

I feel the same way. However, if the Americans elect Trump and he actually governs as he announces in his polemical election campaign, I no longer see any overlap at all with the ideological values that we have shared up to now; at least in theory that is. Then I have to say that closer cooperation with an inhuman communist regime seems to me the lesser evil than a continued cooperation with a fascist turbo-capitalist autocracy. I really hope it won’t come to that.

Trump is a hippopotamus fart in a suit. Yet, he still commands about 90 percent of the news coverage. Of course that’s largely due to his horrible behavior and his sick campaign to run for an office he himself said he didn’t want to have anyway.

For someone who is no longer a public official, he certainly has swayed all the media to his side. One upside to that is, I’ve rediscovered my love of reading and not having the TV on all day anymore.

As much as I hate to admit it, any day Trump is grabbing headlines by being horrible is a good day for the Biden campaign. We had a couple years of relative quiet when he was shunned from social media. People forgot what it was like to have Trump in their feeds 24/7, the elephant in every conversation, and his polls climbed up. The concern is that we’ll repeat 2016 and get appathetic thinking “No way this guy wins”

Yes. This is what your typical American cares about. Time for Biden to get woke.

Edit: to save myself an argument here is a list of things your average American is looking at:

    Price of bread

    Price of gas

    Healthcare

    Defending the constitution

    Immigration

I’d go on but the list gets more and more stark.

I’m not saying we needn’t worry about NATO but look you turd nuggets NATO won’t be a thing if Biden can’t secure a second term.

Unfortunately we are base creatures here in the US of A so don’t get so lost in your high minded ideas.
