I was up at 1am collecting toads and checking our fence hadn’t fallen over in the storm. Found our pal the juvenile python hanging out on the veranda again. Can’t believe s/he’s back on the move after eating at least 2 baby rats a few nights back. Thought they’d be sleeping for a month.

Then I was up at 5am checking the fence again because I had a dream it collapsed and the dogs had got out. Turns out the neighbours fence collapsed, but ours is fine.

Should have used one of those opportunities to beat the bandicoot. Not a euphemism. Or is it…
