India Vehicle Exports: Commerce and industry minister Piyush Goyal has urged the automobile industry to increase its export share to 50% of all passenger vehicles produced in India by 2030. I’m not clear how the government thinks asking the automotive industry is going to help. Wouldn’t they be trying to get aa much export business as they could anyway?

I’m not sure what the export taxes on automotive or other regulations exist, but limiting them is about the only thing I can think politicians could actually do to help.
