Kids need to learn about their bodies, consent and types of abuse early so that they are able to recognize and report abuse being done to them or others. If not, they don’t have an understanding of the language needed to express that things that are wrong and they need help.

This is EXACTLY why republicans don’t want children to have a functional path to sexual education. And similarly why they don’t want their voters to have a basic general education.

Given their obsession with satanic pedophile rings and penchant for projection it wouldn’t surprise me at all tbh.

The number of pedofiles in the population is so small it wouldn’t make sense. It’s like tailoring your policy based on urination fetish peoples desires. It’s not going to get you enough votes to make it worthwhile and it’s going to cost you votes from the people that aren’t pedos which is almost everyone. Disclaimer: I’m not from US and don’t care at all for US politics so I’m not rooting for any team.

I’m talking about Republicans in office much more often being accused and convicted of doing pedo shit.

I’m not talking about the general populace, however I will say that for enough people who vote republican, leadership being convicted of pedo shit apparently isn’t enough of a deal breaker.

You’re misunderstanding. They aren’t interested in protecting pedophiles-in-general, or even most Republican-voter-pedophiles, just, literally, themselves, and maybe their pedophile donors, until those get caught that is.

Sadly, most of those same donors play both sides of the aisle, and Dems in office are all-too-happy to help them as well, so long as their pockets are deep enough. On that note, here’s your weekly reminder that the Clintons made promoting and implimenting vouchers for private schools a key issue, and yes, these issues are thoroughly inter-twined.

Yeah, I was 22 years old when my mother sat me down for “the talk”, and even then, it only consisted of “don’t go to bed with someone”. LITERALLY nothing more than that. I just looked at her cockeyed and told her she was pretty late for this talk. And of course the talk itself was just so sub par.

      “What do you mean dad?”

“You know, like sex n shit”

"Yeah dad, we’ve had sex Ed the last like 2 years, and we’ve also had the Internet on our computer since before that. "

“Ok, good. You know, be safe and stuff”

A for effort I guess. Thanks Dad!

I could be wrong, but I don’t think your experience was typical. I hope I’m not wrong. My mom did this whole little lesson plan with me when I was entering puberty, including reading a book to me that I think was called Preparing for Puberty. It was awkward, but I’m glad that she took the time to share that information with me.

I’m glad my mom handed me the puberty book and walked away. Jesus christ I would have flashbacks to that experience until I die.

I hope you’re right, but my experience, albeit a decade earlier, was very similar to the above.

Isn’t sex ed, deescalation and abuse prevention part of the standard kindergarten schedule since 30 years?

“Stranger Danger” and “Bad Touch” aren’t discussed in Indiana Classrooms until the 2nd grade, and even then, its super-vague.

Gender doesn’t exactly play into telling kids to tell a parent and/or teacher or doctor when anyone touches their “private area”? Pretty sure nipples are mentioned as such for girls and boys, if they are mentioned at all.

Part of what I was getting at, or rather how I read your question, is that none of my children mentioned any separation of the girls and boys for these lessons. There was mention of “private areas”, but also, “or any other touching that made you or others uncomfortable” and the “why” seems to have been left for the health classes they had later on in Middle School and High School.
