And you could ask for a spoiler free review of an old movie or series or questions about it . Here eveeything like that gets downvoated to hell , doesn’t exist or doesn’t get much reach . I do wish we could intime have things like that .

If I’m not mistaken I think this community may have been created in response to its loss, but it hasn’t managed to get as much activity for whatever reason. Prior to the Lemmy.film instance going away, its version of this community had around five thousand subscribers.

That is correct, but the first community was created was created during the peak of Lemmy users post Reddit exodus, we are now much less on Lemmy as a whole. !moviesandtv@lemm.ee is still the most active movie community in the whole of Lemmy.

The media restriction might play a role, but I don’t remember that many videos upload from the previous version. What was there though, is the discussion threads that we are discussing here. I opened a discussion on them this morning but got that thread removed (see below). That’s a bit concerning to be honest.

Interesting to note: if you review the mod log, that’s not the first time either. For some reason, a prior meta post three months ago was also removed, as well as an attempt at a discussion thread. Although oddly in both cases they were restored, but looking at them I don’t see any explanations provided, and incidentally they were both from you, I think.

Edit: supposing a discussion doesn’t help here, it may be wise to try to create another community for the same purpose but with clearer rules and moderation. 🤷‍♀️ Seems to be the natural way of things with the internet.
