The sad truth is that nobody that can do anything about it gives a shit. Musk doesn’t give a shit. The US government doesn’t give a shit. The shareholders don’t give a shit. There’s too much money for them to give a shit.

Stop working for this asshat. And stop giving free publicity.

Well we only have ourselves to blame. SpaceX shouldn’t exist. It should have never have been able to get into market being overwhelmed by very successful companies and NASA. The GOP cut space funding and fucked around with what little that was left for half a century. Meanwhile Boeing decided that lobby was a better investment than engineering.

They have done impressive stuff but it was all impressive stuff that should have happened multiple decades ago.

Shareholders / investors / stock holders… you get the idea. People that have invested money in the company. They don’t give a shit and just want returns.

Former employees have been saying something along these lines for years. Plus being worked to burnout at an industrial rate. I compliment the talented engineers for their achievements but the company is a spacecraft sweatshop.

A long time and a few jobs ago a coworker got a new job and moved to Palo Alto for Tesla to work in their HR department. I wonder what absolute chicanery they had to witness and internalize during that period of their life.

Why can’t I just enjoy the cool rockets without having to be reminded of all of the controversial shit surrounding them? Fuck’s sake I hate this bastard…

The whole point of commercial rockets was that there was supposed to be competition. ULA’s new Vulcan Centaur is barely competition for the Falcon 9; they have to sell themselves on being mature players who can hit deadlines better than SpaceX. Then there’s a small list of up and coming players that haven’t proven themselves yet. Oh, and Bezos is still fucking around with his rocket company.

Good news is that at least there’s some kind of path that looks better than NASA’s own SLS.

didn’t elon just have twins with a tesla staffer or am I misunderstanding? cause if that’s true I can very much see that kind of thing going on at spacex too.

the government should investigate that, and they really could do it since spacex has that multibillion dollar government contract.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

Former SpaceX employees are accusing executives at the company of discrimination against women, according to California civil rights complaints viewed by Bloomberg.

Seven former employees say SpaceX execs joked about sexual harassment and fired workers for raising concerns, Bloomberg reported.

Representatives for SpaceX did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Business Insider, made outside normal working hours.

SpaceX didn’t respond to Bloomberg’s inquiries but has denied wrongdoing in a previous case bought by the workers, it wrote.

Per Bloomberg, these California workers were fired in 2022 after they circulated a draft of an open letter critical of CEO Elon Musk.

The letter stated that Musk’s behavior in public was “a frequent source of distraction and embarrassment,” according to a New York Times report.
