Roast chooks are so expensive these days. I swear just a few years ago they were much cheaper. Except the Costco one they are all $12-$13.50! I’m not going all the way to Costco for a chicken in a bag, though. I guess they lost their loss leader status.
Local charcoal chook might cost twice as much, but maybe twice as big. And you can get chips with chicken salt there. Paid $10.50 for a 1/4 + chips today.
KFC probably about sparrow size, and makes you feel queasy after. With soggy chips. And will cost you at least twice as much.
Roast chook even at $15 will get you at least a couple of meals. I’m impressed that the supermarket chooks stay moist in the fridge. Though that makes me
wonder…pumped full of something??

You can achieve the same at home if you inject the marinade which is what I expect they do
I remember when they used to go for $8. These days I usually just wait till they’re marked down to $5 or less.
