Gretchen Whitmer responds to calls by some Democrats to vote ‘uncommitted’ in Michigan’s primary on Tuesday

Gretchen Whitmer, the Michigan governor, pushed back on calls to not vote for Joe Biden over his handling of the Israel-Gaza conflict, saying on Sunday that could help Trump get re-elected.

“It’s important not to lose sight of the fact that any vote that’s not cast for Joe Biden supports a second Trump term,” she said on Sunday during an interview on CNN’s State of the Union. “A second Trump term would be devastating. Not just on fundamental rights, not just on our democracy here at home, but also when it comes to foreign policy. This was a man who promoted a Muslim ban.”

Whitmer, who is a co-chair of Biden’s 2024 campaign, also said she wasn’t sure what to expect when it came to the protest vote.

Rashida Tlaib, a Democrat who is the only Palestinian-American serving in Congress, urged Democrats last week to vote “uncommitted” in Michigan’s 27 February primary.

        There is no single ‘nut job’ pushing anything. It is simply being aware of current demographic trends in Michigan, and knowing that Biden won Michigan by only 11k votes.

        I don’t need to listen to someone else to decide what my opinions are. I’m capable of looking at objective data, and drawing conclusions for myself. Lots of Michigan state DNC members, including the one that screamed the loudest that Clinton was going to lose are raising the same warnings about this election.

        God, you’re so brain rotted by living in a bubble and blaming a foreign power for everything you literally are incapable of analyzing data yourself, if it leads to a conclusion you don’t like.

        That is a really really bad place to be.

          No, Biden did not win the Michigan primary by 11k. Do you know how numbers work? Your image even shows the numbers. Where do you see 11k?

          He won with ~623k votes, which represented just over 81% of the total votes. Contrast that to 2020, in which he won with just over 840k votes, or just shy of 53%.

          I am shocked… that you’ve managed to double down on your ignorance, when you’re literally providing the contrary information in your initial comment.

          As for the rest of your comment, I think it’s quite obvious you’re incapable of coming to correct conclusions. If you’re doing basic math and coming out with incorrect answers? God help you.
