Obviously you are allowed to like and dislike whatever art you want. But the thing I like about this portrait in person is it looks better the farther away you look at it. When you examine the portrait up close it doesn’t look like a real person. For someone who probably wants us all to look at his whole life and not focus at certain parts, I think it’s a pretty good portrait.
Is that the official portrait?
It depends on what the definition of the word “is” is.
This is hanging in the National Portrait Gallery and is the official one. I hate it and it looks so much worse in person.

I don’t find it to be a good piece of art and not befitting something as lofty as an official presidential portrait.
