    Ad Astra - Good potential, abysmal execution

    What even was the plot of that movie, I watched it years later on DVD and it seemed like several movies in one and none of them had bugger all to do with each other. Nice VFX mind.

      It’s a space adaptation of Heart of Darkness. I thought it was incredibly well done.

        I must need to read the book to get it because like the person above you I just couldn’t get with the story it was telling. I agree it was a well done movie and wanted to like it, but I found my attention drifting frequently when I saw it.

        Shit adaptation, honestly. It’s an adaptation in the sense that the writer of Ad Astra read the book synopsis once, and used that as part of his inspiration. Apocalypse Now is a way better and more direct adaptation.
