Why do you care if someone uses Sync? Seems the only people giving a shit are those adamant on “FOSS only”.

    Let people enjoy things

(Also if you pay for ad removal the tracking stops, the tracking is only included with the ads)

I’m using sync with an adblocker so there’s no ads, so there’s no tracking so it’s basically a free app.

It’s not stopping but it’s kinda annoying to see one group trolling others. Yeah, the app has paid features that I can’t even afford to pay. But I simply don’t care and just use it with other FOSS app.

Most of the lemmy users are adults who are tech savvy. If one alternate is not fit them, they know their alternatives or know how find them. Let us not behave like a bunch of edgy teens.

Oh cool, so if you pay to remove the ads the developer added in to make you pay, you won’t be tracked. Maybe.

The tracking is just part of the Google ads, it’s not a separate thing, so if ads are disabled then it isn’t intermented so no ads or tracking. The guy wants to be paid for his work, I don’t think that’s unfair.

Just gotta take his word on that I guess since the app isn’t open source.

Reddit wanted to be paid for their work too btw. Many found that to be unfair.

Why do you care about intentionally making people ignorant about “let people enjoy things” in the name of giving personal data and money?
