First off: NSFW streamers.

This should be no shock that softcore porn is basically allowed unmoderated on Twitch. Why aren’t there any filters for users to block them out, let alone allowed to begin with? Porn should not be a platform explicitly about gaming unless the TOS allows it and there are filters for users to opt out. It is infuriating, all it does is feed into the already problematic sexism there in addition to putting platforms’ ability to enforce TOS into question.

Second: Sexism, which is unfortunately an even bigger problem than OF streamers

Oh boy I have quite a lot to say. Gaming is no longer this niche hobby only a few tech nerds can enjoy, it’s now as big as cooking, vlogging, or X hobbies I am not aware of. That said, I was honestly shocked at how rampant sexism still is in gaming when I watched Kav’s video back in February. The easiest examples I can think of is gamers getting outraged over female character redesigns - even though the redesign weren’t that drastic AND they are still hot by their OWN standards - and female streamers being lumped with the previously mentioned NSFW streamers if they’re “hot” or get called insert X slurs if they’re “ugly”. Yes, absofuckinglutely NSFW streamers should not be on platforms like Twitch and Kick but WHY do you have to lump female streamers with them based on appearance alone? If I point to a jacked up male and assume they are a MAGA fascist, you have every right to lose your shit so why is it ok to lump female streamers with NSFW?

Some more issues include poor media criticism which sometimes borders into bigotry like calling a game bad for having anyone that isn’t a straight white man even breathe without even holding it to the same standards as their favorite franchises.
