Are they worth reading?

I used to read Star Trek novels in the 90s when TNG was at its peak(ish) and they had some ‘real’ authors writing books. Even some of those were stinkers.

While I’m a huge Stargate fan, I always imagined they would be pretty horrible and full of bad characterization

I listened to the audiobook a couple years ago and enjoyed it on the comute to work. Not sure about any printed books though.

If Fanfics count, there are some really good ones out there.

One I’m currently reading is called Data Loss.

I think it’s really good and portrays the characters perfectly so far!

    Quick blurb

When Sam gave Pallan instructions to erase SG-1 from the town’s collective memory, she had no idea that a link device had been attached to Colonel O’Neill’s temple. As the remaining members of SG-1 work with Janet Fraiser and Jonas Quinn to restore Jack’s memories, they’re faced with the possibility that they might not be able to return to the status quo. A “what if?” story for Season 7 Episode 5: Revisions.

I’ve read some for SG-1 and Atlantis. Most have been pretty good. The story lines seem more intense and a couple even seemed a bit too gory for the TV time slot the shows had. I would definitely trying a few out.
