Similar way is how I ended up finding out about Mindustry. Found it on F-Droid and liked it enough to buy it on Steam when I found out it’s available there. Definitely a good idea if done right.

Too bad I don’t have access to any apple products I could use to try it. Gonna have to look into this.

Edit: looked it up and it looks like something similar to Vib-Ribbon in terms.of gameplay, but from what I can gather, it’s been over a decade since any updates. Also, I’d hope for a PC port of a Vib-Ribbon clone because there’s no way you’re getting me to play any more rhythm games where you have to use a small touch screen to play. No idea if that Russian Dancing Men has the ability to take local files stored on your phone and use them to generate levels, though, or where you’d go to get a legit copy of the app anymore even if you have an apple product able to play it.

Don’t know quite how underrated/forgotten this is, but I wanna see a remake of Vib-Ribbon. That, or have an open source clone of it made by someone who actually knows how to properly program (not me), if it already doesn’t exist.

If anything, I believe they wanna go back to long before the 60s. Back to the 1700s, in terms of owning slaves (including women), being able to shoot anyone who they disagree with, and getting away with killing anyone who isn’t white, claim they killed themselves, and have nobody question it.

I’m all for peaceful environmental protesting, but destruction of property and historic monuments/items only makes your movement look worse. News will spin it as the protesters being vandals and go about their day. Most people won’t think beyond that and will probably associate environmental activism with negative things such as vandalism or whatever else their favorite news calls what they’re doing.

I’d love to see them try to run it on a Flipper Zero. Theoretically you could maybe make it work. Should you? Absolutely not, but I wanna see it.

It really is a massive W for Firefox, knowing that despite the security risks that are probably manufactured by gøøg|e on purpose to justify manifest v3, that they’re still gonnaet v3 extensions use the web request API. Let’s hope they keep that up for as long as possible.

There are a couple channels I watch where I expect community notes to be absolutely abused to make anyone who comes to their channels think they’re either liars or something horrendous. As good of a feature as this is, I have no doubts it’ll be abused.

Time to shoot the newbie. First used Ubuntu 20.04 in 2022. It was a necessity at the time on that shitty laptop and I had never used Linux before. Wouldn’t go back to using that distro or laptop ever again since I have upgraded.

I usually have a lot of troubles with KDE Connect no matter what device I’m using. Could be running windows 10 or Linux. I also sometimes have the files not transferring problem and even have had plenty of problems getting it to connect to devices that are in the same room on the same network. It’s infuriating and makes me wonder why I even use it.

I’ve heard plenty of other people have had a better time with it than I have, but I like to use KDE Connect for some reason that I’ll never understand. That, and Wormhole, through flatpak since I suck at installing through source.

In other news Adobe forced to pay 0.001% if what they earn every day from subscriptions and still find loopholes allowing them to continue business as usual, with the US government sticking their thumbs up their ass because they can’t make an example of Adobe too soon or the bribes… I mean donations from lobbyists representing large companies will dry up.

Same. There’s one game I liked well enough after demoing it that I bought merch for the game to support the dev, alongside having bought the game on Steam. If a game is worth the price and is a quality game, I have absolutely no problem going from demo to buying it if I can.

I don’t remember which book it was in, but the story about the person calling every single hour only to find out he was in the house the whole time scared me back in the day so much I absolutely dreaded going back to my room in the basement at night. Don’t you threaten me with a good time! Finding a Windows copy is the easy part, even if it’s debatable how safe the copy is. Pagemaker sounds like the hard part.

Steam/Valve is pretty much one of the only companies I actually am perfectly willing to let be a monopoly as they currently stand. Especially since they have come a long ways towards making gaming so much more accessible to Linux users, like me, who don’t know how to take full advantage of wine.

Purely preference. That, and I’ve spent about a million times more time on an xbox360 than just about any other console in existence, so it’s what I personally consider the best way. If you or someone you know uses any other way, that’s your deal, but I just can’t retrain myself to like any other format.

All gamepads that have it having a BAXY control scheme. That’s B right, A down, X left, Y up for the buttons on the right side of the gamepad. I can’t tell you how many times I have pressed the wrong buttons when playing certain games all because the 3rd party switch controller I have uses ABYX or because I don’t remember where the symbols are on a PlayStation controller. Dreamcast and original Xbox had their shit together with how they used BAXY for their controllers and to this day I may shit on Microsoft, but not on the BAXY control scheme on their gamepads.
